FAMILY GARDEN
Jane recognized the lack of access and resources for healthy food options in low income areas of Houston and decided to partner with Small Steps Nurturing Center to support the community they serve. Jane’s family along with friends visited Small Steps students' homes to plant container gardens.
These families now have access to fresh vegetables right in their backyards! This opportunity created a sustainable food source, promoted nutrition, educated children on healthy food choices, and invested in the community. This initiative continues and new gardens are planted each year.
We hope you feel inspired to be a part of this meaningful effort by planting your own garden or one for someone who could benefit from a source of fresh produce. Please tag @janesjoyride with photos of your garden projects!
